The previous owner of the GAZ had recommended a workshop close to the place where he had been living that had maintained the GAZ over the last two years. As we did not have as much time as necessary, we had given the GAZ to the workshop to do the most necessary repairs and have it at least TÜV approved.
Anyhow, from a lack of resources, lack of knowledge, lack of motivation, … the workshop did not manage to make any relevant steps forward. And the GAZ was still 100 km away from us with some known technical problems.
On one Saturday – after good preparation and with good friends in the background that would help in case of problems – we decided to drive the GAZ to its new home. No problems with the trip plus a smiling driver. 🙂
Nachdem wir die nötigsten Arbeiten zum TÜVen eigentlich aus Zeitmangel in einer Werkstatt beauftragt hatten, die Werkstatt aber – aufgrund von Personalmangel – nicht für Geld und gute Worte zur Arbeit zu bewegen war, haben wir heute entschieden, die Überführung an seinen neuen Standort einfach zu versuchen.
Mit diversen Rückfallebenen in der Hinterhand ist die Überführung dann auch völlig unspektakulär gelaufen, der GAZ braucht etwas Schwung an den Bergen ist aber ansonsten flott unterwegs.
Und ich kriege dieses unverschämte Grinsen gerade nicht aus dem Gesicht. 🙂
