When we changed the antifreeze in the engine of our GAZ 66, we had been able to let most of the old water run out of the system through the tap we found on the lower left corner of the radiator.
Fortunately John from one of my favority forums helped us to identify and find the other three taps. Thanks a lot, especially for the photos!
Als wir in den vergangenen Wochen das Kühlwasser unseres GAZ 66 gewechselt haben, haben wir möglichst viel Wasser mit dem Hahn am Kühler unten links (in Fahrtrichtung) abgelassen, haben aber keinen Hahn am Motorblock gefunden.
John aus dem entsprechenden englischsprachigen Forum konnte uns mit Rat, Tat und Bildern helfen, die anderen drei Hähne zu identifizieren. Ein besonders herzliches Dankeschön, insbesondere für die Bilder!
Hahn 1: am Kühler links unten, direkt zu bedienen
Tap 1: Left side of the bottom of the radiator
Hahn 2: am Kühler rechts unten, mit Hebel von oben zu bedienen
Tap 2: Right side of the bottom of the radiator, easily operated by a lever above
Hahn 3: am Motorblock rechts, per Hebel zu bedienen, Hebel endet neben dem Ölpeilstab und fehlt bei uns
Tap 3: in the middle of the right side of the engine, usually operated by a lever from beside the oil dipstick (missing currently on our GAZ 66)
Hahn 4: unten an der Motorvorheizung, von oben per Hebel bedient
Tap 4: to be found at the engine preheater, also operated via lever
This should not only help us, but also other GAZ 66 drivers, to properly exchange the coolant of the engine by using all four valves.
Damit sollten wir – und hoffentlich auch der ein oder andere GAZ 66 Fahrer sonst irgendwo – beim nächsten Kühlwasserwechsel die Ablasshähne besser finden als bisher.
